The recently sworn-in mayor of , Eduardo Dalmora (PL), denounced in a live broadcast on his social networks a series of irregularities found in the Municipal Cemetery of the city on the coast of Paraná, on Thursday (2). According to the mayor, a freezer full of frozen animals and at least 20 human remains, packed in bags, were found at the site within the cemetery administration.
“We were unable to make the transition. We took over the city hall and found a surprise at every moment. But our biggest surprise is here at the Municipal Cemetery: a freezer full of frozen cats and more than 20 human remains in bags”, said Dalmora in the broadcast.

The city’s Public Security Secretary, Colonel Durval Tavares Júnior, also lamented the situation, which, according to him, is not limited to the cemetery. “I was disappointed when I visited my secretariat’s headquarters today, a lot of rubbish accumulated in the Municipal Guard. In addition to all this, at the beginning of the evening we were informed that there were frozen cats and even dogs here in the cemetery administration. We called the Military and Civil Police and Criminalistics, and they are all here. According to the Scientific Police, they have been there for a long time. Also the bones within the administration. Now the police will investigate. It’s a disappointment, a very big surprise.”
According to the newspaper JB Litoral, the State Secretariat of Public Security of Paraná (Sesp) has not yet officially commented, but is expected to issue a note regarding investigations into the case this Friday (3).
