Singer Gusttavo Lima stated in an interview with the Metrópoles portal that he intends to run for President of the Republic in 2026.
The countryman said he is still without a party, but stated that he wants to make a “gesture for the country” and “put my knowledge to benefit a project to unite the population”.
“Brazil needs alternatives. I’m tired of seeing people in need without being able to do much to help”, said Gusttavo Lima. “I know a lot of people and, although I have never held any political position, I am an entrepreneur. I have set up many companies and I know how to make the wheels turn.”

The singer stated that he has started conversations with political groups that support his plan to enter politics. Even though he supported Jair Bolsonaro (PL) in the last elections, Gusttavo Lima refuted the “right and left story”, according to the interview.
“We have to reduce bureaucracy for the country to function better. The poor are without purchasing power, and the agribusiness sector can no longer bear paying taxes and not having improvements to invest in their own businesses. I think I can help,” he said.
Last year, the singer was the target of an investigation by the Civil Police of Pernambuco on suspicion of money laundering through online betting. The investigation was closed by the Public Ministry in December due to lack of evidence.
