Hailstorm hits RS; 15 cities record damage

Rio Grande do Sul was hit by a strong hail stormlast Thursday (2). According to a state Civil Defense report, so far, at least 15 municipalities were affected by the rain.

Em Amaral Ferrador, in the southeast of the state, the storm caused damage to 24 homes.

In the city of little treein the upper region of Vale do Taquari, numerous tobacco crops were destroyed. However, Civil Defense believes that more damage has occurred.

Furthermore, in Canudos do Valein the lower part of the valley, and in Canguçuin Serra dos Tapes, the storm also caused damage to tobacco crops in the municipalities.

Em Takedownsin the northwest of the state, 14 houses were left roofless and numerous trees collapsed. A light pole fell on the Artidor Bratz Road (ERS 330). According to Civil Defense, the road was closed for a period.

In the municipality of Dom Felicianothe hail caused damage to 25 homes. In total, 100 people were affected.

Montenegroin the central region of Vale do Rio Caí, 20 homes were left roofless and more than 30 incidents of cutting and removing branches were recorded.

BR 285 was blocked between the cities of Panambi e Pejuçara due to a falling tree.

In Alto Uruguai Gaúcho, in Paulo Bentoa pavilion made of pipes and concrete was left roofless.

In the southern region of the state, in Rio Grande e São José do Nortethe storm caused damage to several homes. The municipal administration assists those affected by the rain and surveys the total damage caused by the event.

Neighborhoods of the city of Taquara They lost power due to heavy rain and four homes were partially roofed. Already in Venâncio AiresCivil Defense counted seven unroofed houses.

The agency also recorded the hail storm in São Lourenço do Sul e Two Lajeados.
