Lula will go to settlement, amid criticism from the MST – 01/02/2025 – Panel

President Luiz Inácio da Silva () agreed to visit one at the beginning of the year, as requested by . The date is still being finalized, but it should take place between the end of January and the beginning of February. The site is also being studied.

Since taking office two years ago, the president has not been to any settlement, which is a reason for criticism from the landless movement, reinforced in an interview with its leaders in December.

The entity has been raising its tone against the government and complaining about the performance of the Ministry of Agrarian Development and Incra.

According to the MST, there is a delay in settling families and a lack of resources to purchase food from family farming.

The ministry counters by saying that it has a list of achievements to present, from the expropriation and purchase of land to the increase in resources for technical assistance for small farmers.
