POST 2 OF 3
The Paraná Civil Police (PCPR) revealed details of the crime that resulted in the death of a 14-year-old teenager, who was harvesting mangoes, in the city of Medianeira, in the west of the state. According to delegate Denis Merino, four security guards are responsible for the crime and would have premeditated the attack.
“The crime was premeditated, two of the perpetrators were on duty that day, however, they did not wear the company uniform. They abandoned their respective posts”, declared the delegate.
Employees from the private security company would have monitored the young people and approached them on Avenida Brasil, at a time when the boys were in a field, picking fruit from a mango tree.
The guards acted with extreme violence and beat one of the teenagers to death, identified as Luís Fernando Chiarentin. Another victim suffered serious injuries and was taken to an Emergency Care Unit (UPA).

According to the delegate, the four suspects, who are considered fugitives, are not related, however, they work in the same company. “They worked in a private security company in the city and these minors went to the workplace and there were disagreements over some acts that the minors committed,” commented Merino.
Crime motivated by previous confusion
The young people targeted by the vigilantes had already been involved in some trouble in the city. Three months ago, the boys allegedly tampered with the fire extinguisher at a school in Medianeira. On another occasion, they would have thrown firecrackers near the city hall.
This Thursday (2), PCPR released photos of the four suspected guards. The men were indicted for qualified homicide, ambush, gross motive and inability to defend the victim, and are wanted in court.
