The motorcyclist who died after a car passed over his head in Curitiba is identified

He was identified as José Carlos Mateus Cardozo, the motorcyclist who died after suffering a traffic accident on Thursday afternoon (2), in the Industrial City of Curitiba (CIC). His son was on the back of the motorcycle and is in serious condition.

According to information obtained by , the motorcyclist attempted to overtake while a truck was maneuvering to enter a condominium. During the maneuver, the motorcycle lost its balance and the driver fell. The driver of the Corsa Sedan was unable to stop in time and ran over the man. According to rescuers, the motorcyclist’s helmet cracked on impact, and he died at the scene. The boy who was riding pillion was rescued in serious condition and taken to the Workers’ Hospital.

A motorcyclist tried to overtake a vehicle when the truck was coming in the opposite direction. So he ended up losing his balance, ending up falling to the ground, just as the vehicle he was trying to overtake ended up passing over his head, causing him to die.”

The driver of the Corsa Sedan reported to the PM that she was unable to avoid being run over, as the fall happened very quickly. According to her, both the motorcycle and the car were traveling at low speed.

The case remains under investigation.
