A 33-year-old woman was the victim of a robbery in the Etelvina Carneiro neighborhood, located in the North region of Belo Horizonte, this Thursday morning (2). The criminal took the victim’s cell phone, the iPhone 12 Pro Max model.
Itatiaia spoke to the woman, who said she was on her way to work at the time of the episode. She reacted to the assault and managed to scare the man away, but was injured and needed medical attention.
Images obtained by the report show that the criminal pretended to make a delivery to the residence in front of the crime scene. The victim did not suspect the man and said he heard “application noise” on his cell phone.
When she realized she was going to be robbed, the woman tried to throw her iPhone over the wall, but was stopped by the robber, who was armed with a knife.
The criminal and victim got into a physical fight, and the woman managed to break the man’s knife. After exchanging blows, the burglar managed to escape. He has not yet been identified by police authorities and there is no information whether he was injured.
The woman had cuts on one of her hands and was taken to the hospital. In an interview with Itatiaia, she says that she was “very shaken” by the episode and that she was “psychologically in shambles”.
“We work hard to get the things that a person has, simply with masculine strength, to take from us. It’s very sad”, says the victim, who asked not to be identified.
