According to a report, the supplementary health sector has accumulated net results in 12 months of R$7.7 billion in the 3rd quarter of 2024
The (National Supplementary Health Agency) this Friday (3.Jan.2025) that the sector of health plan beneficiaries in November 2024 registered 51,508,727 users in medical assistance and 34,347,368 in exclusively dental plans.
There was an increase of 16,952 users compared to November 2023, while 4,318,186 beneficiaries adopted dental plans in 1 year.

In relation to the States, in the comparison with November 2024, the sector registered progress in 24 federative units. São Paulo, Minas Gerais and Ceará were the states that had the biggest gain in absolute numbers.

Among dental plans, 24 federative units also registered growth in the annual comparison, with emphasis on São Paulo, Minas Gerais and Paraná.

FINANCIAL RESULT
The supplementary health sector presented an accumulated net result in 12 months of R$7.7 billion in the 3rd quarter of 2024. This is the best result in the last 3 years for this period.
Total annual revenue was R$242.6 billion – a profit of around 6,9 billionaccording to ANS.
As for expenses, the highest recorded in the 3rd half of 2024 was assistance expenses, with around R$192 billion.

The report also indicates that 699 health care plan operators are active, 669 of which have beneficiaries. The coverage rate is 25.37%.
The most common type of health plan contracting is corporate collective, with 36,853,619 beneficiaries, while individual or family plans represent only 8,712,522 plans.

In relation to consumer demands, the largest portion recorded in 2024 was complaints, with 28,916 cases.
