Change in pension payments
So far, the rules have been set up like this. As pensioners, you receive your pension on the same day of the month. However, if the days turned out to be a holiday on the day the pension is paid, you will receive your pension earlier. It was probably too complicated, because this year the number of pay days will be drastically reduced, especially due to the Christmas holidays. Although pensions are now paid from the second to the twenty-fourth of the month, officials plan to reduce this payment period.
According to the Czech Social Security Administration, this change will occur roughly in the second quarter of 2025. So if you are one of those whose pension comes from the 16th to the 24th of the month, the change will occur for you that your due date will be moved to the first half of the month.
The CSSA should inform you about the exact dates in time. You don’t have to worry, fortunately, the amount of the pension will not change in any way and will remain the same. You will only receive the given amount earlier than you were used to.
Pension payment system
The pension payment system is traditionally governed by the so-called rolling month. This means that the pension is paid for the period that begins with the specified pension due date. This year, however, pensions will start to be paid for a regular calendar month.
Allegedly, this will unify the payment of pensions to all recipients and make the system more understandable. It is a complication, because when a person is used to the fact that his pension comes on the 21st and suddenly the date changes to the 9th, it can be difficult to get used to it.
