Rodrigo Garro, Corinthians midfielder, was involved in an accident with a motorcyclist in La Pampa, Argentina, this Saturday morning (4), the player’s birthday. The victim ended up passing away, and number 10 went straight to the police station to give a statement to the authorities.
Garro has since been released and is at home with his family. Corinthians was notified and contacted the player, who is on vacation in Argentina. The athlete will remain detained in the country until experts determine what happened in the incident, and determine whether Garro is guilty or not.
What happened
The car Garro was driving collided with a motorcycle, resulting in the death of the motorcyclist. The player and his companion did not suffer any injuries, according to Diário Olé. The accident happened around five in the morning. The victim is Nicolás Chiaraviglio, a 30-year-old man who drove a 110 cc Guerreri Trio, according to the Clarín portal.
The case is being investigated by prosecutor Francisco Cuenca, who has so far classified the incident as manslaughter, that is, without intent to kill.
