According to Secom (Secretariat of Social Communication of the Presidency), the president () will participate in the presentation of works of art that had been vandalized — and have now been restored — and in a ceremony with authorities at Palácio do Planalto. The presidents of the Powers and governors were invited.
Afterwards, the head of the Executive will participate in a symbolic embrace of the Praça dos Três Poderes in an event called by the Frente Brasil Popular, a social movement.
According to Planalto, 21 pieces were restored by specialists at Palácio da Alvorada, and it was repaired in Switzerland, at no cost to Brazil. In addition, there will be a presentation of the work at Planalto.
While last year the date was marked by a ceremony with authorities in , this year the participation of the left will be more representative.
Right-wing parliamentarians pressured members of centrist parties, including the president of the Chamber, (-AL), not to attend the event last year. Lira, in fact, was not. This year, despite the invitation, he is not yet confirmed, as is (PSD-MG), president of .
The event in Planalto that marks two years since the attacks will take place less than a month before the elections for the leadership of Congress. The likely successors of Lira and Pacheco, (Republicanos-PB) and (-AP), respectively, were also invited, according to reports.
In , there is a bill that provides for amnesty for those arrested in the coup acts. Lira had promised to vote on the project during her administration, which did not happen. Now, Hugo Motta faces pressure from Bolsonarists to move forward with the issue.
At the end of the event, Lula will descend the Planalto ramp with authorities to participate in an event called by the Frente Brasil Popular in the square.
The expectation is to bring together around a thousand people. Left-wing parties (PT, PC do B and PV) participate in the organization. CUT (Central Única dos Trabalhadores), (Brazilian Bar Association) and CNBB (National Conference of Bishops of Brazil) must also be invited.
The president, during his last meeting with ministers, in December, mentioned the event they were organizing and asked everyone to attend. He also spoke of the importance of defending democracy and said he was happy to see it represent an action against impunity.
The former vice-president in () in 2022, Braga Netto is the first four-star general arrested in the process investigating a coup attempt in the elections.
The progress of the investigations pointed to Lula, the vice-president () and the minister of the (Supreme Federal Court).
The minister (Defence) and the commanders of the three forces, who attended the 2024 event, are confirmed for this year.

Lula was referring to the walk from Palácio do Planalto to the STF, which brought together authorities the day after the attacks. Arm in arm, they crossed the Praça dos Três Poderes in repudiation of the episode.
