The influencer Pablo Marçal (PRTB) said he called the country singer Gustavo Lima after the singer declared that he intends to run for President of the Republic in 2026, a position for which Marçal himself has also demonstrated his desire to run. According to the former coach, Lima represents a “new crop of politicians” and has a “heart willing to serve our people”.
“We will experience the worst economic moment in our history in these next few days and after that a new political harvest will come. Welcome, Gusttavo!”, said Marçal, in a statement released by his press office.
The singer, who was in the midst of an investigation into money laundering before the Public Ministry said it found no evidence of illegality, stated that Brazil needs alternatives and that he is tired of seeing the population suffer. He is a notorious supporter of former president Jair Bolsonaro (PL).

“Enough of this story of right and left. It’s not about that, it’s about making a gesture for the country, in the sense of putting my knowledge to benefit a project to unite the population”, in an interview with the portal Metropolises. He is not affiliated with a political party at this time.
After being defeated in the election for mayor of São Paulo, Marçal indicated that he intends to run for president or governor, without detailing which state, in the next election. “2026 is right there,” he said shortly after the defeat in the past. He, however, could be declared ineligible by the Electoral Court for having published a false medical report on Guilherme Boulos (PSOL).
In the interview with the portal, Lima promotes himself as an entrepreneur, who left poverty and achieved prosperity, talks about reducing bureaucracy in the State and defends agribusiness, speeches normally associated with the right. “I know a lot of people and, although I have never held any political position, I am an entrepreneur”, he says.

“I have set up many companies and I know how to make the wheels turn. We have to reduce bureaucracy for the country to function better. The poor are without purchasing power, and the agribusiness sector can no longer bear paying taxes and not having improvements to invest in their own businesses. I think I can help, maybe I will change my mind by 2026, but today my disposition is very inclined to become a candidate for the Presidency of the Republic in 2026”, said the singer.
In recent years, Gusttavo Lima has also faced investigations into million-dollar contracts with city halls. Shows scheduled in cities such as Conceição do Mato Dentro (MG) and Magé (RJ) were the subject of investigations due to suspected misuse of public resources. In the case of Conceição do Mato Dentro, a show valued at R$1.2 million was canceled after suspicions that the payment would use resources from the Financial Compensation for Mineral Exploration, restricted to health, education and infrastructure.
