SHMÚ warns against freezing temperatures: They will drop to -16 °C in these districts

In some districts Banskobystrické, Košice, Prešovské and Žilina regions expect low temperatures from Saturday 9:00 p.m. to Sunday 7:00 a.m. They can drop to minus 16 degrees Celsius. The Slovak Hydrometeorological Institute (SHMÚ) therefore issued a warning. He informed about it on his website.

The first level warning against low temperatures is in effect for the districts Banská Bystrica, Brezno, Revúca, Rimavská Sobota, Gelnica, Rožňava, Spišská Nová Ves, Bardejov, Kežmarok, Levoča, Poprad, Prešov, Sabinov, Stará Ľubovňa, Dolný Kubín.

“The low temperature represents a potential danger to human health and physical activities in the outdoors,” warned meteorologists.
