Pastries made from cast dough

The biggest sure bet is puff pastry. You simply mix a few ingredients according to the recipe, pour them on the baking tray and let them bake… In a moment, a miracle will be born… This way, buns such as bubble cake, sponge cake or classic gingerbread are baked in this way, which among housewives is regarded as a wonderful quick snack with coffee. Among the prized “yummies” for Sunday sittings is also a stuffed bun. It doesn’t cost much time, money and the result is brilliant.

Super quick sponge cake

The procedure is simple: Beat 1 egg, 1 granulated sugar and 1 vanilla sugar in a bowl. Then add ½ cup of oil and ¾ cup of milk and finally 1 and ½ cups of semi-coarse flour, into which you previously mixed 1 baking powder. Beat everything carefully again so that the mass is compact and the base for the cake is ready!

The stick test

Pour the resulting dough into a smaller baking pan lined with baking paper. If you want, you can also use a classic cake pan for the same purpose! Bake the cake at 180°C until it gets a classic golden hue. How do you know it’s done? Simple: Take a toothpick and insert it into the center of the cake. If there is no dough left at the end, the cake is ready! Otherwise, give it a few minutes to finish baking.

Preparing the topping

While your sponge cake is baking, prepare the frosting. How to do it: Heat 20 dkg of butter in a saucepan. Once the fat has liquefied, add 20 dkg of powdered sugar, 3 spoons of classic cocoa and 5 spoons of rum. Beat the ingredients with a whisk until they come together in a smooth glaze.

The wooden spoon trick

Pierce the baked bun with the end of a wooden spoon. Thanks to this, the bun will have an interesting cut and the topping will partially flow inside, making it juicier. Then cover the surface of the cake with cocoa frosting.
Most of the time, the mixture will only remain in the center of the cake, so don’t be afraid to spread it in the corners as well, so that it flows into the holes of the spatula and covers the entire sponge. Sprinkle the finished pudding with coconut or chopped walnuts (if you don’t have any, you can use hazelnuts or almonds, for example). Cut the cake into squares and serve to a family visit. She will be thrilled!
