A 63-year-old woman died in a pile-up between three vehicles recorded in the early hours of Saturday (4), on BR-116, in the East Contour of Curitiba. The victim was a passenger in one of the cars involved and was ejected from the vehicle. In addition to her, eight other people were injured in the accident in the Pinheirinho neighborhood.

According to RICtv, witnesses reported that the Ford Fiesta was in the middle of the highway after the driver lost control of the steering wheel. The driver and two other passengers were already out of the car when two vehicles approached and hit the car. The 63-year-old woman was in one of the cars and rolled over several meters.
Furthermore, the report found that the driver of the Fiesta appeared to be drunk. The 21-year-old man underwent a breathalyzer test, which showed 0.29 decigrams of alcohol per liter of blood, which does not constitute a traffic crime. The boy was taken to the Traffic Offenses Police Station.
The woman who died in the pileup in Contorno Leste was rescued at the scene of the accident. The other victims were also treated and are not at risk of death.
