Ancelotti is confident that Vini Jr. will escape suspension after expulsion

Real Madrid are optimistic about the possibility of Vinicius Jr. escaping suspension after receiving a straight red card during the 2-1 comeback victory over Valencia last week, coach Carlo Ancelotti said this Sunday (5).

The coach confirmed that the Brazilian striker will travel to Cartagena to play in the Copa del Rey match, this Monday (6), against Deportiva Minera.

The Brazilian striker was sent off for slapping Valencia goalkeeper Stole Dimitrievski during the LaLiga match, and two games due to a red card.

“It wasn’t a red, it was a yellow, and that’s why we hope he doesn’t suffer any suspension,” said the coach.

Ancelotti also highlighted the emotional impact that Vinicius has faced, especially due to episodes of.

“It’s difficult to be in his shoes. It’s not easy to deal with all of this, including the insults. He’s trying to adapt and improve, but it’s a complicated situation. He is upset, he apologized and he knows he needs to move on,” said the coach.

The coach confirmed that Vinicius will be available for the clash and highlighted that only two players will not travel with the squad: goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois and defender Antonio Rudiger. “Everyone else is ready and will travel to the match,” he concluded.
