Two people died in a serious accident on BR-277, in Palmeira, in Campos Gerais do Paraná, this Sunday morning (5). According to information from the Federal Highway Police (PRF), the two victims were in a Voyage that collided head-on with a BMW X3, which has Argentine license plates. The driver of the SUV, who from the first indications was the one who entered the oncoming lane, then fled the scene, leaving behind almost 120 kg of marijuana, found by the police inside the vehicle.
Still according to , the accident occurred around 7 am, at km 180 of the highway. In addition to the two fatal victims, a 48-year-old man and a 44-year-old woman, three other people who were on the Voyage were injured. The driver, a 24-year-old man, and a 20-year-old passenger suffered minor injuries. Another young woman, aged 24, suffered serious injuries.

Upon arriving at the scene, highway police officers did not find any occupants of the BMW. Then, after smelling a strong smell of marijuana, they found several tablets of the drug inside the vehicle. According to the PRF, some of them were hidden inside the SUV’s dashboard. Then, after the seizure, the drugs and the vehicle were taken to the Palmeira Civil Police station. There, the drug was identified and weighed. In total, 117.66 kg of marijuana were seized.
