The Seville parade celebrated a historic day this Saturday, January 4, for the first time in its 107 years of existence. The bad weather forecast for this Sunday was the reason for the change, but the rain also came ahead and finally made an appearance. None of this stopped the people of Seville from celebrating the arrival of the Three Wise Men to the city of Seville in a big way.

The Los Remedios neighborhood, especially Asunción Street and the corner of Pepe Pinreles, became a real party to welcome the Three Wise Men. With musical performances that made people chant and dance to the songs performed by groups such as the Virgen de los Reyes Musical Group.

One of the great moments of the parade was experienced in front of the Macarena Basilica, when the Grand Vizier of the procession asked his girlfriend, who was in the same float, to marry him.

Another of the scenes of the day featured one of Baltasar’s pages, who fell to the ground from the carriage in the middle of the journey. He lost his balance while throwing gifts to the attendees, but everything ended in a great scare.

And another of the most shared images of the day and that has generated the most conversation on networks has been the ride of the National Police on horseback while the Spanish anthem was playing. The largest police union, Jupol, has responded with a message on networks and a “Long live Spain.”

Finally, the Seville parade also generated controversy due to the insults that some of the attendees made against Pedro Sánchez.

This Sunday, January 5, the vast majority of Three Kings parades are celebrated in Spain. .
