Hospitalized with pneumonia, the mayor of Belo Horizonte, Fuad Noman (PSD), took, from this Saturday (4), medical leave for 15 days (until January 18).
The announcement of the license was made by the City of BH through a note. The vice-mayor, Álvaro Damião (União), temporarily assumes command of the capital of Minas Gerais.
Fuad is in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) of Mater Dei Hospital, in BH. The mayor was admitted to the hospital on Friday (3) with a .
From yesterday to today, Fuad had “an improvement in hemodynamic and respiratory parameters”, according to a medical bulletin released this Saturday afternoon.
Tests also carried out this Saturday indicated that the respiratory failure that led Fuad to hospitalization was caused by pneumonia.
According to a medical bulletin, Fuad, even with his improvement, “still requires sedation and mechanical ventilation, but is already in the process of reducing the parameters of the devices”.
There is no forecast for Fuad to be discharged from the ICU. According to the city hall, the 15-day absence is “in accordance with a medical certificate” issued by Dr. Enaldo Melo de Lima, who accompanies the mayor at Mater Dei.
