The mayor of Belo Horizonte, Fuad Noman (PSD), has pneumonia, according to the latest medical report from the Mater Dei hospital. Noman was admitted on Friday afternoon (3), and has since been in the ICU, where he will remain for an indefinite period of time.
He had respiratory failure, which is now known to be caused by pneumonia. Noman still needs sedation and mechanical ventilation, but the use of devices is already reducing.
It is the fourth time that Noman has been hospitalized since he was re-elected to the position in October last year. He announced in July that he had a cancer known as non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma.
In October, between the first and second rounds of the election, the mayor declared that he was cured of the disease. However, hospitalizations have become frequent since then.
