The Israeli army issued a report with the results of the attacks on the Gaza Strip. Israel has admitted that fire from Hamas is less frequent than it has been since the start of the war.
The Israeli military says it neutralized more than a hundred “terrorist targets” and “eliminated dozens of terrorists” from the Palestinian radical movement Hamas during its attacks in the Palestinian Gaza Strip on Friday and Saturday. This was reported by the AFP agency on Sunday, which referred to the statement of the General Staff of the Israeli Armed Forces.
The army also said it had hit several sites in recent days from which Palestinian militants were firing rockets into the Jewish state.
On Wednesday, Israeli Defense Minister Yisrael Katz threatened to intensify Israeli attacks on the Palestinian territory if the rocket fire from Hamas positions does not stop. Israel claims that it has been the target of rocket attacks almost every day for more than a week, although it admits that the fire is less frequent than at the beginning of the war in the Gaza Strip.
This escalation comes after the resumption of indirect negotiations on an agreement to release the Israeli hostages and restore the ceasefire. These negotiations are taking place in Qatar. Their mediators are Qatar, Egypt and the United States. According to the AFP report, data from the Ministry of Health in the Gaza Strip, which the UN considers reliable, and according to which at least 59 people lost their lives in the fighting zone in the Gaza Strip over the course of 24 hours – between Friday and Saturday – testify to the scale of the mentioned Israeli attacks.
