Within just a few days, a blue-black government has become the most likely option for Austria’s political future. The designated ÖVP leader Christian Stocker appeared ready to enter into government negotiations with FPÖ leader Herbert Kickl on Sunday afternoon. Stocker was flanked by a black party entourage during his appearance at the ÖVP headquarters and apparently enjoys the support of the entire ÖVP board, which unanimously elected him acting federal party chairman.
