Act of vandalism destroyed R$239,000 worth of alcoholic beverages

An act of vandalism left a trail of destruction at McAloon’s Liquors, an alcohol store in North Andover, Massachusetts, United States. During the early hours of the morning, the establishment was broken into and the target of an attack that resulted in the destruction of drinks worth 250 thousand dollars, equivalent to more than 239 thousand euros.

Broken bottles and alcohol scattered across the floor marked the crime scene, leaving the owner, Bill Buco, in disbelief. “Someone, in their brilliant mind, decided to destroy the store. I don’t know why,” he said in a video shared on Instagram.

Bill, who has been in charge of the store for more than 40 years, initially believed he would have to turn to a professional company to handle cleaning up the damage. However, he was surprised by the solidarity of the local community. Around 50 people gathered spontaneously to help clean the space and try to restore order to the establishment.

Despite the significant financial impact, this gesture of unity brought some comfort to the owner, demonstrating the community’s strength in the face of adversity.
