Suspect was detained by authorities
A man armed with a knife tried to enter the residence of Belgian Prime Minister Alexander De Croo this Monday, confirmed the Belgian police cited by HLN.
the man was detained when he tried to enter the residence and allegedly made “threats to the military personnel present”.
The prime minister ended up using X to thank the security forces for their efficiency and said he was “relieved that no one was injured in the knife incident.”
“The suspect has been arrested and we are closely monitoring the situation with the police,” he added.

Through his spokesman, the prime minister still said he was “shocked by the incident”.
“We would like to express our sincere thanks to the military police officers. We are closely monitoring the situation together with the police. We are relieved that no one was injured in the incident,” he added.
