One week before the start of the state championships that open the 2025 season, almost all Series A teams already have their coaches defined, with the only exception being current champion Botafogo, who needs to replace Artur Jorge. Among the coaches already confirmed in the Brasileirão elite, the duo that leads the Bahian teams stands out for their permanence.
Among the 20 clubs in the 2025 Series A, six have changed coaches since last season, configuring 30% of the squads with new leaders for the Brasileirão. From proposals from other clubs to dismissals due to internal problems, the dismissals of coaches were constant.
Of the 20 who started 2024 in Series A, only five reached the end of the season while still at their clubs. Among the 15 who left during the season, eight left their squads before the start of the Brazilian Championship.
The turnover is immense: among the 14 technicians who move from 2024 to 2025, the average contracted time is less than a year, totaling 11.9 months. A few exceptions remain at their clubs, such as Abel Ferreira, who has been in charge of Palmeiras for four years and three months, and Juan Pablo Vojvoda, who has been in charge of Fortaleza for three years and nine months.
The top five longest-serving coaches include Rogério Ceni and Thiago Carpini, leaders of the Bahian clubs. The Bahia professor has defended the tricolors for a year and four months, while the Vitória leader has been in charge of the red-black team for eight months.
Along with Abel, Vojvoda, Ceni and Carpini, Luís Zubeldia, São Paulo coach, has been in charge of the team for nine months. The most recent are Fernando Seabra, with two months at Bragantino, and Fábio Matias, with the same period at Juventude.
