Accusation was brought to court by a pro-Palestinian organization; military officer left Brazil after an authorized investigation

Israel’s representatives in Brazil also said that “the real perpetrators of war crimes are terrorist organizations”in reference to the extremist group Hamas.
THE CASE OF THE ISRAELIAN SOLDIER
An Israel Defense Forces soldier left Brazil this Sunday (5 January) after the Federal Police investigated him for alleged war crimes in the Gaza Strip.
On that occasion, a residential block was demolished by explosives. The place served as a shelter for Palestinians who had been internally displaced since the start of the war.
The information is from the Israeli state broadcaster. According to the publication, his family said that he was never arrested.
The order for the soldier to be investigated was issued on December 30, 2024, by judge Raquel Soares Charelli, from the Federal District.
According to the portal Metropolisesthe request was presented by HRF (Hind Rajab Foundation), an organization that defends the rights of Palestinians. The Israeli soldier was in Brazil for vacation. He is accused of participating in an attack on a residential neighborhood in the Gaza Strip in November last year.
In the document, HRF attached evidence that was collected through an investigation into Open Source Intelligence data – that is, in banks and sources with public information. The organization argues that the evidence proved the Israeli soldier’s involvement.
The soldier’s father told the Canal 12 this Sunday (5 January) that a friend who was traveling with his son received a message from an Israeli diplomatic office saying that an arrest warrant had been issued.
“I asked them to escape immediately and not stay a moment longer. [no Brasil]”, he said, quoted by the newspaper. The father stated that he received a message from his son in the early hours of this Sunday (5 January) saying that he had left Brazil.
