State deputy Marina Helou (Rede-SP) will take a three-month leave of absence to participate in a study program at Stanford University, in the USA.
She is enrolled in the entity’s Department of Education, one of the main in the country. Marina was selected as a scholarship and visiting fellow, where she will remain until March.
The deputy will be welcomed at the institution by professor Guilherme Lichand, a specialist in education and inequalities in the global South.
They will discuss a model for monitoring learning and development in schools based on a ban on the use of cell phones. Marina went to state schools, approved by and sanctioned by governor Tarcísio de Freitas (Republicans).
“I’m very excited about the possibility of making new connections, bringing ideas and other possibilities to think about the development of children in the state of São Paulo. This is a highly regarded program, with incredible researchers that will allow me to broaden horizons and bring consistency to the construction of our public policies, always based on data and evidence of impact on people’s lives”, he states.
The subjects she studies must involve early childhood, climate change and artificial intelligence.
