The Minister of Finance, Fernando Haddad, returns to Brasília this Monday (6).
The head of the economic team is on vacation, but he was going to interrupt his rest to participate in the event on January 8th this week. However, Haddad anticipated his arrival and has an agenda with President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva (PT) scheduled for 10 am, at Palácio do Planalto – the matter was not disclosed.
Haddad’s vacation had been published in the Official Gazette of the Union (DOU) at the end of last year. The minister stated that the days of rest, in fact, would be to accompany a relative’s post-surgery. In this case, his wife, Ana Estela Haddad.
The published period was from January 2nd to 21st. But, soon after, a break was recorded from the 7th to the 9th of January – to respond to Lula’s call to participate in what will take place at the Palácio do Planalto.
The minister is in Brasília for the week and is expected to have meetings with the economic team, ministers and parliamentarians, as well as meetings with the President of the Republic.
Even on vacation, Haddad will not stay away from economic discussions, especially about the , enacted by Congress in 2024. According to sources heard by CNNthe minister is also expected to use the Avenida Paulista office for possible meetings.
