A fire on a pole located in the central region of Rio Branco caused a short circuit and the rupture of optical fibers, which affected the intranet and corporate internet services of several public bodies in the state.
The information was released through a public note by the State Secretariat for Administration (Sead).
The Acre News Agency, the government’s main communication portal, was offline for a few hours. Several bodies were impacted by the disruption, including the Rio Branco Emergency Room, the General Command of the Acre Military Police (PMAC) and the Acre Court of Justice (TJAC).

“The government of Acre, through the State Secretariat for Administration (Sead), informs that, in the early hours of this Monday, the 6th, around 5 am, a fire occurred, caused by a short circuit, on a pole located in central region of the city. The incident resulted in the rupture of optical fibers, affecting the intranet and corporate internet services of several public bodies”, says the note.
“Technical teams are already on site, working to restore services as quickly as possible. The repair is expected to be completed by 8pm this Monday, and there may be delays if there is rain that prevents external activities from being carried out”, adds the note.
The government also reported that “the corporate system remains functional and can be accessed through mobile connections (4G). Only access via the corporate internet is temporarily unavailable.”
