A 33-year-old former military police officer was shot dead as he arrived at his home in the Sítio Cercado neighborhood, in Curitiba, on Sunday afternoon (5). According to witnesses, he was surprised by two men, who arrived shooting. The criminals, according to those who witnessed the execution, wore ballistic vests and everything indicates that they were already monitoring the victim before the ambush.
“An incident of firearm discharge has come to our attention. The teams immediately came to check this situation and we came across the individual who had already died. So, after talking to witnesses, with the individual’s wife, it was possible to verify that he was a former military police officer. However, we have not yet been able to determine the causes”, says Lieutenant Roberto Sobral, from the Paraná Military Police ().
Although investigations are at an early stage, police believe the crime was premeditated. This is because the attack was carried out in a way that made any reaction from the victim impossible. Now, the PMPR’s reserved sector is looking for images from security cameras in the region that could help identify the perpetrators of the crime.
