Holidays in Europe. Travelers recommend 10 places worth visiting in 2025

Toulouse in France – the Pink City

The south hides a real gem. La Ville Rose, or the Pink City (the name comes from the material used in the construction of many buildings – pink-tinted brick), was among the top cities to visit in 2025 according to the Lonely Planet guide. Grounds? There are several. These are certainly monuments, including those included on the UNESCO list: St. Basilica. Saturnina – one of the largest Romanesque churches in Europe or the South Canal surrounded by greenery. Capitoline Square and the Augustinian Museum are also worth visiting. A slightly different dose of emotions is offered by Cité de l’Espace – a space rich in interactive exhibitions devoted to space. And of course – food. The fourth largest city in France is known for delicacies such as foie gras and cassoulet.

Lithuania – history in every corner

We will discover the charm of our north-eastern neighbor – so much appreciated by the Polish romantic poet – in 2025. Many people will probably take their first steps towards . Especially since the Lithuanian capital will hold the honorable title of the European Green Capital in the coming year – as much as 61% of the city’s area is covered with green areas! Between them there is the Old Town, inscribed on the UNESCO list, and impressive Baroque churches. In this second place on the list of the Lonely Planet publishing house, it is also worth seeing Kaunas, immersed in history, the Trakai Castle located on an island, the Curonian Spit, Klaipėda and spa towns such as Druskininkai and Birštonas.

Czech Republic – adventure by train

Much has been said about our neighbors – their cuisine and the best beer in the world. No wonder, the Czech Republic invariably tempts and attracts crowds of tourists. For several weeks, traveling to these areas has become even easier. This is thanks to Baltic Express – a train connecting Prague with the Polish coast. The golden city is one of the most visited capitals of the Old Continent. Prague Castle, Golden Lane, Old Town, Wenceslas Square – although these are travel classics – delight at any time of the year. However, it is worth immersing yourself in these less known, undiscovered regions of the Czech Republic. There are as many as 14 of them, and each one has an interesting story. Mention can be made of the Liberec Region with its Jizera Mountains and Bohemian Paradise, or the Karlovy Vary Region with its unique spa resorts such as Marianske Lazne and Karlovy Vary.

Slovenia – small is beautiful

Even though it is a small country – its area is comparable to the size of one of the Polish voivodeships – in terms of tourist attractions and places that are “must see”, it can compete with much larger countries. A web of trails in the Julian Alps, labyrinths in the Škocjanske jame and Postojna caves, fabulous glacial lakes (Bohinj, Jasna) and, of course, castles such as the one in Ljubljana, Predjamaski Grad or Cilejski. It is definitely worth looking for a restaurant serving local cuisine in each of the places you visit. Kremna rezina, Bograč or Gobova juha – you have to try it! Interestingly, in 2020, as many as 50 local restaurants received the famous Michelin stars. When planning a trip, you must definitely include the town of Nova Gorica located in western Slovenia. It won the title of European Capital of Culture 2025.

Fashion in Malta

The Mediterranean Malta is a natural choice for 2025 – LOT is launching direct flights to this island country. This news will certainly please fans of turquoise water and… cinema. The Maltese landscapes were the background of the long-awaited “Gladiator 2”. What else? Tourists should certainly direct their steps towards the Ħal Saflieni Hypogeum – an underground structure from around 4000 BC – which holds a well-deserved place on the UNESCO list. Peace and local color can be found in fishing villages. The most famous are Marsaxlokk. Other places recommended by the Travelist Magazine editorial team include: Slovakia, Sarajevo, Bosnia and Herzegovina, the Stockholm Archipelago (Sweden), the Faroe Islands (Denmark) and Budapest.
