Macron gives Zelensky a slap on the wrist for the territories occupied by Russia: "They must be realistic"

The French president, Emmanuel Macron, said this Monday that Ukrainian authorities should be “realistic” regarding their territorial concerns in any future negotiations to end the Ukrainian war.

Macron has pointed out that Ukraine must raise “realistic debates” on the territorial issue because “only they can put themselves in front of them” and thus be able to find a solution that puts an end to this part of the conflict, who will be three years old next February.

In his annual speech this Monday before the French ambassadors, Macron has stressed that “there is no quick and easy solution in Ukraine”unlike what the president-elect of the United States, Donald Trump, has been saying, who he hopes can “convince” Russia to come to the negotiating table.

At the same time, has left Europe the responsibility of offering “security guarantees” to Ukraine so this doesn’t happen again. The capitulation of kyiv, he stressed, “cannot be good for Europeans and Americans”, according to the French channel. BFMTV.

It should be noted that the return of the territories in eastern Ukraine occupied by Russia during the war is one of the issues that kyiv has raised as a top priority before any type of agreement can be reached.
