Pastor from Mozambique nods to Bolsonaro and Nikolas – 01/05/2025 – Panel

Responsible for calling for street protests in , pastor Venâncio Mondlane, who ran in the presidential election in the African country in October, seeks to build bridges with the Brazilian right.

He came second in the election. The demonstrations, the largest in the country’s history, have already left more than 250 people dead.

In a video during the campaign, he made nods to former president Jair Bolsonaro (PL), whom he called a “man of God”, and to federal deputy Nikolas Ferreira (PL-MG), who he said was his “older brother new”.

Ferreira, however, says he has not yet received any requests for help from Mondlane, who is in exile. The deputy states that he intends to evaluate the possibility of helping him in some way.
