Directed by Brett Ratner, the Amazon documentary will explore the “truly unique story” of the future first lady
Amazon Prime Video announced on Sunday (5 January 2025) the acquisition of exclusive rights to release a documentary about Melania Trump, directed by Brett Ratner. The film, which promises a detailed look at the life of the future First Lady of the United States. It should be released later this year.
The documentary, currently in the filming phase, is described by Amazon as a chance to explore a “truly unique story”. The company also plans to donate $1 million to President-elect Donald Trump’s (Republican) inauguration fund and broadcast the inauguration ceremony on its Prime Video streaming service.
The relationship between Jeff Bezos, founder of Amazon, and Donald Trump has a history of disagreements and criticism. However, Bezos expressed optimism regarding Trump’s second term.
The documentary marks Brett Ratner’s return to directing after accusations of sexual misconduct against 6 women in 2017. The film is produced by Argentine filmmaker Fernando Sulichin.
Melania Trump, who has already published an autobiography, will be First Lady of the United States for the 2nd time with Trump’s inauguration, scheduled for January 20th.
Trump and his vice, JD Vance, will be before Congress this Monday (6 January). This is the last step before the inauguration ceremony of the new head of the North American Executive, known as “Inauguration Day”.
