This is a fiasco for the Federal President (and not only for him): Alexander Van der Bellen did not want and does not want Herbert Kickl as Chancellor. For good reasons. Until now, Van der Bellen has been able to rely on others to make excuses and use arguments put forward by others. First and foremost from Karl Nehammer, who was after all Chancellor and head of the ÖVP, when he explained why Kickl was not an option for him and his party as a coalition partner. SPÖ leader Andreas Babler also argued similarly.
