Victim of drowning in the Ipê River in São José dos Pinhais is identified

The 18-year-old young man, who died in a river in São José dos Pinhais, in the Metropolitan Region of Curitiba (RMC), in , has been identified. David Eduardo dos Santos Alves entered the water of the Ipê River, however, he drowned and could not resist.

A helicopter from the Air Operations Military Police Battalion (BPMOA) was called to rescue the victim, but the boy died. David was rescued by Fire Department agents, who attempted resuscitation for approximately 30 minutes. Witnesses said that the young man was trying to cross the river when he sank and drowned.

David’s wake was held at the 7th Day Adventist Church, in São José dos Pinhais. The burial is scheduled for this Monday (6), at the Parque Senhor do Bonfim Cemetery, also in RMC.
