The creators of the film ČERNÁK publish a trailer for the continuation of the story about perhaps the most famous boss of the Slovak underworld of the 90s. The first part, entitled MIKI, attracted almost 400,000 viewers to cinemas in 2024 and reached the top of the ratings on Netflix immediately after its release. The film ČERNÁK takes place in a time when it is already fully trading with the looted Slovakia, the secret service behaves just like the mafia and exposes itself in full beauty, as in our country “hand washes hand”. Without any inhibitions.
“When we find ourselves in the second part called ČERNÁK, we go into the depths of the Slovak mafia connected with the politics of the 90s. There will be uncompromising situations,” said its main representative about the continuation of the film MIKI Milan Ondrik. “I’m really looking forward to it. When I read the script for the first time, I literally swallowed it, I couldn’t breathe. I wondered myself how far we had come.’
And he is not the only one. The other actors and creators of the story about the most famous mobster in Slovak history perceive it similarly. It is not about his fate in life, but about the fate of Slovakia. About what was possible in Slovakia, how these situations came about, with whose support and why. “After watching ČERNÁK, I was full of emotions, I couldn’t find the right words, and I ended up thinking about the story for days. I was very struck by the realization of what an absurd time our society is in,” he said one of the producers, David Blümel.
Another producer I need Radovan he completes it and says why, in his opinion, the audience should come to see the film in the cinema: “First of all, because the viewer will find in it exactly what they may have been looking for in the movie MIKI. That is, the cooperation of high-ranking politicians with the underworld, brutal scenes of violence between members of the underworld, the climax of the story of Mikuláš Černák during his bloodiest era and at the same time after his arrest. At the same time, we are raising the quality bar even higher in the film ČERNÁK. And seeing a quality film in the cinema is always a powerful experience.”
New goals – get credit, get to Olympus
The films MIKI and ČERNÁK were filmed at the same time, despite this, the shifts in the development of the plot and characters are obvious. “It is known that over time, new deals, connections and connections were created in the business, mafia and, with increasing knowledge, also in the political system. In this direction, the main characters are firm, they perceive new goals – to get credit, to get to ‘Olymp’. They deal with obstacles uncompromisingly. In predictable and less expected situations, they work in a kind of triangle. Miki, Miloš and Ján represent a cohesion that will only begin to break much later…” he said Gregor Hološka, who in the film represents one of Miki’s closest partners.
The cast of the film is again excellent, even with new characters, and can rely on the work of an excellent creative team. “Two people were important to me in the beginning – Miro Šifra and Jakub Kroner. I asked them if they would go for it and if they would go for it together. Their positive response was the basis. And their collaboration on the script,” recalls a third producer Zuzana Mistríková.

“Further on, we made the team together. None of the respondents hesitated. Everyone immediately recognized the potential of the genre project in terms of space to ‘win’ in their profession (camera, costumes, masks, architects, and then editing, music…). Of course, they were aware of the controversy of the topic, but the scripts and the people behind the project were apparently a sufficient guarantee for them that it would not be a first-plan squeeze on an attractive topic.
The audience will once again see Milan Ondrík in the main role, they portrayed a group of his closest relatives Dušan Cinkota, Gregor Hološka, Marek Fučík and the film also introduces new characters portrayed Jozef Vajd, Miroslav Hanuš, Matěj Hádko or the great Ivo Krešić. Will not miss again Anna Javorková in the character of Mikuláš Černák’s mother and Rebeka Poláková in the character of his wife.
The film ČERNÁK was co-produced by PubRes (SK – Učitelka; Mečiar; MEKY; MIKI; Ema a smrtihlav), Regia Civitas Productions (SK – MIKI) and Europeana Production (CZ – Christmas story, MIKI). It will be brought to cinemas by the distribution company CinemArt SK on January 30, 2025.
NO ONE ESCAPES THE CONSEQUENCES OF HIS ACTIONS. NOT MICKEY
Miki Černák, a boy from Telgárt, has become a respected boss of a mafia group, but it is not enough for Miki. He wants to dominate all of Slovakia and become the boss of all bosses. But the way to the top is lined with traitors and corpses. He underestimated the strongest mafia that ever ruled Slovakia – politicians and their secret service.
