With the increase in dengue cases, Rio Branco’s city hall decided to carry out cleaning efforts in the neighborhoods, in a partnership between the Municipal Department of City Care and the Municipal Department of Health.
The joint effort began this Monday morning (6) in the Seis de Agosto neighborhood, based on data presented to the Department of Health, which shows that the rates of contamination by the dengue mosquito in this region are higher.

According to the acting mayor, Alysson Bestene, the objective is to carry out a general cleaning of the streets, instructing residents to also do the same in their backyards, leaving the debris in the streets, from where it will be collected by the City Hall, through SMCCI.
“We have asked residents to place their rubbish on the streets and the city council will remove it. It is a partnership between the Department of City Care and the Department of Health, especially during this period that takes great care with these rates to combat this disease, which is dengue, in addition to care in health units”, he said.
Regarding vaccines, both for dengue and for COVID, Alysson informed that there are doses for the target audience, but that more vaccines should arrive this week, the result of a partnership between the Federal and State Government.
The Secretary of Health, Renan Bits, also spoke about the importance of this partnership, taking care of the issue of cleaning the city, combined with the work of endemic disease agents, who will visit homes to check for outbreaks and prevent the disease.
“We have our health teams attentive to cases of COVID and dengue, and this partnership between the departments is part of the fight against the proliferation of the Aedes aegypti mosquito, and according to our information, this region of the Seis de Agosto neighborhood, Canaã and Cidade Nova registered a significant number of mosquito breeding sites, so this action is to address this situation”, highlighted the Secretary of Health.
The action began with the work orders that were given to more than 100 workers at the Seis de Agosto market. According to the city’s secretary of care, Valcilena Oliveira, in addition to the 100 employees, including cleaning and endemic agents, 26 machines will be used to assist the service and remove debris.
After the joint effort in this region, other neighborhoods should also be served with this service.
