A woman was arrested in Torres, on suspicion of having poisoned three people in December 2024. The court issued a temporary arrest order. The accused is the daughter-in-law of Zeli Terezinha Silva dos Anjos, aged 61, who was responsible for making the cake and is currently hospitalized, but in stable condition.

On December 23, six members of the same family showed signs of intoxication after eating the cake, which was found to have been found in its composition. The victims were identified as Neuza Denize Silva dos Anjos, aged 65; Maida Berenice Flores da Silva, 59 years old; and Tatiana Denize Silva dos Anjos, 47 years old.
