We all know it. Sooner or later, scale deposits with a yellowish color appear around the edge of the ceramic toilet bowl, and the fight against them is tough. We come up with a simple guide to get rid of them.

Although there are chemical preparations on the market available in every drugstore, our experience is also that we have to try several of them willy-nilly before we finally come across the effective one. And hundreds of crowns are here.

There is strength in simplicity

Water contains minerals in the form of mainly calcium and magnesium, and it is these that cause deposits.
You may not believe it, but ordinary vinegar with a price tag of around two tens of crowns per liter, it can deal with limescale extremely well.

Pour about 150-200 milliliters of vinegar into a pot and heat it to a moderate temperature on the stove or in a suitable container in the microwave. You will also need a paper roll of kitchen towels. Tear them into smaller pieces and soak them in warm vinegar. Done, and the fight against unattractive deposits begins.

The next procedure is already simple – cover the edges of the toilet bowl with vinegar-soaked paper scraps from below, that’s where the greatest concentration of limescale deposits lurks. Leave on for at least one hour. If after an hour you are not satisfied with the result and the limescale has not come off over the entire surface of the deposit, repeat the procedure, but it will loosen it!

Water scale? Brush him!

At the end, scrub the toilet with a brush with stiff bristles, which will push the vinegar-damaged limescale so that it starts to peel off, of course paying more attention to the under-edge parts of the toilet bowl. A very useful brush is the so-called double toilet brush, in addition to the main part, it also has a smaller brush built in, which is designed specifically for cleaning the edge.

By the way, the hardest water here is in Český Brod and in the nearby small village of Tuchoraz. There, our instructions for a simple, cheap and effective fight against limescale will probably be appreciated the most.
