A bronze sculpture worth around £60,000 (about $74,500) has been stolen from the home of renowned artist Anne Curry.
Essex Police reported that the work, titled “La Promesse,” was stolen from the artist’s residence between December 5 and 6. The production cost of the work is estimated at £20,000, while the selling price is around £60,000.
The sizable work of art — measuring 1.57 meters high, 1.25 meters wide and 1.55 meters long — is signed by the artist and intended for placement in a canal or pond, according to Curry’s website. Police said no arrests have been made and investigations are continuing.
“I do not underestimate the impact this theft has had on the victim and we will explore all reasonable investigative options,” said Constable Glenn Symonds, who is leading the investigation. He appealed to anyone with information to help solve the case.
At the end of December, a thief in London stole 10 million pounds worth of luxury bags and jewelry from a private residence.
