The Bahian Football Federation changed the location of the match between Bahia and Jacuipense, scheduled for this Sunday (12), at 4pm, for the 1st round of the Bahia Championship. Initially, the duel would be played at the Joia da Princesa stadium, in Feira de Santana, but was relocated to Carneirão, in Alagoinhas.
The decision was taken due to problems with the artificial lighting of the Joia da Princesa stadium. According to Jacuipense, the host of the match, the place does not have adequate conditions for the match to take place.”
Last week, images of the poor state of Joia’s lawn caught attention. The municipal administration even announced that it would carry out an emergency revitalization to make the square ready to receive the match.
Bahia will start the Campeonato Baiano using an alternative team made up of athletes from the under-20 team and some underutilized players from the main squad. The athletes will be led by coach Leonardo Galbes.
The decision was made for the squad coached by Rogério Ceni to carry out the pre-season in Girona, Spain.
