With each move the minister makes in the universe of parliamentary amendments, he shows us that he has stirred a most dangerous hornet’s nest.
Recently they were a military project and non-governmental organizations, but Executive bodies, city halls, deputies, senators and their associates are already involved.
The Federal Police are on the trail of these people, whose activities have long required control. It is worth noting that Flávio Dino is not leading the issue of his own free will.
First: he acts provoked and with the approval of the Federal Supreme Court. Furthermore, he replaced Minister Rosa Weber, who had jurisdiction over the topic, and therefore inherited from her the process that in 2022 resulted in the banning of the secret budget, a decision ignored by Congress.
Unfortunately for the congressmen caught up in the chaos of the obscure use of amendments and the luck of the public’s money, this inheritance soon fell into the hands of a minister who was once a parliamentarian, governor and holder of the Justice portfolio.
With such experience, it is difficult to be fooled. You know how snakes walk and stones roll in the Legislative and Executive branches. With each trick, he works to dismantle the farce by brandishing the Constitution’s mother requirement: transparency and fairness, ladies and gentlemen.
This story is nowhere near over and it is important that society does not get tired of the subject. It’s not a repeat of old news. It is, rather, bad news every day. This requires everyone’s full attention.
Letting it go, believing that everything is nothing more than a fight between Powers or a personal fight between Flávio and the still mayor Arthur Lira (PP) — as the saying goes — is the worst choice.
Also because it will be bad for a lot of people. And it needs to. The scandals are underway and that’s a good thing, because things couldn’t continue the way they were, with Parliament making and undoing the Budget in the shadows.
Before the worst breaks, it would behoove the Planalto to make it clear which side it is on: legality or consented clandestinity.
