After a difficult year, Paul Belmondo made an important decision: change course. Indeed, he wishes to take the same trajectory as his late father, and thus, perform in front of the public again. From this Saturday, January 11, he will be performing in a new play entitled Completely Spaceas we can discover in his Instagram story published this Monday, January 6, 2025. In his publication, Paul Belmondo wrote: “And now we are preparing for a new adventure”. Words that say a lot about this change in trajectory…
Paul Belmondo back on stage
This play, directed by Marie-Laure Descoureaux (who plays Chantal in Untouchable and the Spanish teacher in The Teachers) and Jean-Philippe Azéma, will be on tour throughout France until June 2025. Alongside Paul Belmondo, we find, as well as the actors Valérie Mairesse (seen in the comedy Finally widowed), Willy Liechty and Florian Maubert.
The first performance will take place this Saturday, January 11 in Claye-Souille, in Île-de-France. In his Instagram story, Paul Belmondo also revealed part of the futuristic decor to say the least. We can see a sort of spaceship there, which echoes the name of this play which takes place in 2082. Here is the synopsis: Jacqueline and Michel win a stay in space as part of a team of renowned scientists. Their mission: explore the planet BK812 in order to bring back a new source of energy that could save the Earth. But they know absolutely nothing about science. And cohabitation with Olga, the authoritarian captain, Aurélien, the mysterious astronaut and Jimmy, the feverish young graduate, promises to be difficult and could well endanger the mission. Promising, isn’t it?
As a reminder, in 2024, Paul Belmondo was already starring in the play Papasss by Nadège Meziat, directed by Christian Vadim. For the moment, we do not know if this return to the stage marks a break in his racing career. One thing is sure, he continues to follow in his father’s footsteps…
