Author of the shooting against Adilson Custódio Moreira handed himself in to the police after negotiation with the Special Tactical Actions Group
A “readjustment of services” in the Municipal Civil Guard was what motivated Marival de Souza, 1st Class guard, to kill the deputy secretary Security and Urban Control of Osasco, on Monday (6.Jan.2025).
The motivation for the crime was disclosed by the commander of the Osasco Municipal Civil Guard, Regional Inspector Erivan da Silva Gomes. The information is from CNN. According to the commander, Adilson Custódio Moreira was meeting with municipal agents in a room at Osasco city hall to “clarify the changes” on the work schedule.
At the meeting, Marival was informed that he would leave the internal administrative work he carried out in Osasco to the “everyday life on the street”. The assistant secretary’s conversation with the guards was carried out individually. According to preliminary information, the exchange would have motivated the attack.
The commander reported that, at the time of the attack, Moreira was only with the suspect in the room. “In one of those moments of clarifying all this personnel movement, unfortunately the colleague ended up freaking out”, Erivan said. The suspect has no complaints with the Internal Affairs Department and does not respond to administrative proceedings.
Erivan da Silva Gomes did not rule out, however, the possibility of previous disagreements between the deputy secretary and Marival de Souza. “We are old at the institution, so there are old things from our daily lives that we don’t know if in his day-to-day work, at some point, he kept them for himself”he stated.
Still on Monday (January 6, 2025), the civil guard handed himself in to the police. After the shooting, the man locked himself in a room at city hall and surrendered after negotiating with the Special Tactical Actions Group. According to the city of Osasco, the corridors of the Municipal Palace were temporarily closed for the activities of the Civil, Military and Municipal Civil Guard.
