Trans woman killed on avenue was a member of the Cidade Jardim samba school: 'fundamental piece'

Jeane Him, has trans woman murdered this Sunday (5) on Avenida Raja Gabágliain Belo Horizonte, was part of the Cidade Jardim samba school.

This Monday (6), the association paid tribute to Jeje Sucesso, as it was known, on social media. The samba school highlighted Jeane’s role in the parades and classified her as a “fundamental piece” for Carnival to happen.

“We were in the process of organizing the 2025 parade, and Jeane was a fundamental part of this construction. We lost not just a co-worker, but a dear, competent and sensitive friend, whose absence will be felt in every detail of what we do”, says an excerpt from the note.

In addition to a note of condolence, the samba school posted a video in which Jeane appears smiling and blowing a kiss to the camera.

According to the Military Police, the woman was linked to the Third Command Puro (TCP) faction. On the night of the crime, she would have discussed with the girlfriend of a Comando Vermelho (CV) drug dealera rival faction to the TCP, identified as “Marlin”. Jeane would have been executed after making the symbol of the criminal group for the drug dealer and his associates.

“It is with immense sadness and deep regret that Escola de Samba Cidade Jardim receives the news of the passing of Jeane, our dear Jeje Sucesso. This loss shakes us deeply, especially due to the reasons and circumstances that surrounded this sad event.

Jeane has always been an essential figure in our school, demonstrating dedication, commitment and unconditional love for the community. She was always ready to help and do whatever was necessary to build our dream together.

We were in the process of organizing the 2025 parade, and Jeane was a fundamental part of this construction. We lost not just a co-worker, but a dear, competent and sensitive friend, whose absence will be felt in every detail of what we do.

Your joy, proactivity and kindness will be present in our hearts and in every step of our parade. We will carry on his legacy, honoring his memory in all our actions.

Cidade Jardim is in mourning. We thank you for everything you have given us, Jeje Sucesso. Your contribution was invaluable. Present now and forever in our hearts.
