Erdogan’s announcements to strengthen the Turkish defense
A day earlier, in his post, he had attacked the opposition for criticizing him and referred to Turkey’s weapons program. “Last week we started the programs that will strengthen us more in the Blue Homeland. With the MILGEM program, we have built our country’s corvettes and frigates that are 100% domestically produced… We already have 5 such ships, and the construction of another 7 continues,” he said initially.
He then pointed out: “With the experience we gained with this program, we started the construction of the first anti-aircraft defense cruiser in Istanbul, and the first domestically designed and produced submarine was welded at the Golzuk shipyard.. Our national aircraft carrier that will be built will be the “big brother” of TCG Anadolu which we have”.
According to Erdogan “with these plans, Turkey will move up a category, and we will have satisfied our critical needs. We will continue to work with determination to be a Turkey that gives confidence to its friends and inspires fear in its enemies.”
Finally, the Turkish president asserted that “our investments in the field of defense industry are not for preparing for war, but for maintaining peace”
Last week, we started projects that will strengthen the power of our navy in the Blue Homeland, which the main opposition frowned upon as “nonsense”.
With the commissioning of these projects, which will take Turkey to the next league when completed, we will have met another very critical need.…
