Fonseca passed the first phase of the tournament previews by beating Argentine Federico Agustin Gomez by 2 sets to 0, partial 6/4 and 6/0, on Monday (06/01).
Now, the Brazilian will face Chak Lam Coleman Wong, from Hong Kong. If he wins against Wong, Fonseca will still need to go through another round of the Australian Open preliminary rounds to reach the main draw of the Grand Slam.

Qualifying for the Australian Open 2025 will take place from January 6th to 9th, with the participation of 128 male players and 128 female players.
