Adilson Custódio Moreira had worked as a public servant for over 25 years; he died shot by Henrique Marival de Sousa during a meeting with agents working in the city
Killed on Monday night (06), inside the city hall of Adilson Custódio Moreira was deputy secretary of Security for the city of Greater São Paulo. A public servant for over 25 years and a former municipal civil guard, he had been at Osasco City Hall for eight years. He was Secretary of Security and Urban Control of Osasco between 2018 and 2019, in the administration of former mayor Rogério Lins (Podemos). He continued in the portfolio as deputy secretary and was kept in the position by the current administration, of Gerson Pessoa (Podemos).
Moreira was born in Jequitinhonha, in the north of Minas Gerais, but grew up in the interior of São Paulo, where he studied and worked in industry and farming. Installed in Osasco, he founded a motorcycle courier company and in the 1990s he applied for the position of where he performed various functions, reaching the distinguished class through an internal competition. He would have turned 54 next Sunday, January 12th. The current and former mayor of Osasco mourned the death of the assistant secretary on social media.
“I am appalled by this situation. We will accompany Moreira’s family and offer all the support they need in this moment of pain. Our prayers go out to the victim’s family and friends on this very sad day for Osasco,” said Pessoa. “We regret this situation that occurred at Osasco City Hall, which culminated in the cowardly death of the Assistant Secretary of Security and Urban Control, Adilson Moreira, a great fighter, but above all a friend. Moreira, who was a municipal civil guard before serving as assistant secretary, was one of those who fought for improvements for the GCM. Go in peace my brother!” wrote Lins.
