The holidays have come to an end for Bahia. This Tuesday morning (7), the tricolor squad performed at CT Evaristo de Macedo, in Dias D’Ávila, and began preparations for the 2025 season.
On the “first day” of the new year, the return was marked by a reunion between old acquaintances. The tricolor maintained last year’s base and many of the players who played in the last Brasileirão were present at the CT.
In total, the Bahian club has a contract with 23 remaining athletes from last year. Goalkeeper Danilo Fernandes and midfielder Acevedo, whose contracts were coming to an end, renewed and remain in the team. Midfielder Thaciano has advanced negotiations with Santos and is expected to leave the club.
The group also has new features. Although Bahia has not yet officially announced new signings, striker Erick Pulga, midfielder Erick, and midfielders Rodrigo Nestor and Michel Araújo are already in the Bahian capital and are undergoing medical examinations before signing with the club.
Erick Pulga was in Ceará, while Erick came from Athletico-PR. The two landed in Salvador in the early hours of Monday (6). On the same day, but at night, Nestor and Michel Araújo arrived on Bahian soil. The duo was signed by São Paulo.
Uruguayan, Michel Araújo will sign a permanent contract with Bahia. Rodrigo Nestor will initially remain at the Squadron on loan until the end of the year, but the agreement provides for the obligation to purchase from 2026.
This Tuesday, the players underwent a series of medical and physical examinations. The assessments were conducted by the Performance and Health Department.
Afterwards, the athletes went to the field, where they participated in a physical and technical activity with a ball organized into stations. The goalkeepers also did position-specific training.
While recovering from injury, right-back Iago Borduchi did physical and technical transition work. He performed earlier than the rest of the cast.
Bahia will return to work this Wednesday morning (8), but later this week they will travel to Girona, in Spain, where they will carry out pre-season training. The four new players will also be part of the delegation.
Due to the trip, Tricolor will use an alternative team, made up of under-20 players and athletes returning from loans, in the first three games of the Bahia Championship. The first appointment will be this Sunday (12), against Jacuipense.
The debut of the main team should take place in the week of January 22nd, in the Copa do Nordeste.
